PD&E STUDY OBJECTIVES:
The objective of this study is to determine the best alternative to provide mobility and safety improvements for SR 40 through the project limits.
Various alignment, design and safety improvements will be evaluated to determine the economic, environmental and social benefits and impacts associated with each option. This
comparative analysis, together with input received from the public, will serve as the basis for selection of the recommended improvement.
The scope of services describes the scope of work to be performed and the responsibilities of the consultant and the DOT in
connection with the preliminary engineering (conceptual design), and
environmental studies necessary to comply with DOT procedures and to obtain Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Location and Design Concept Acceptance (LDCA) of the study to widen and rehabilitate (two to four lanes) of State Road 40 from the end of the four-lane section to SR 15 in Marion, Lake and Volusia Counties, Florida. |
